Paris Saint Germain invited record-holders Real Madrid to Parc Des Princes for the opening game of this year’s Champions League. The Los Blancos started the game on a high by playing some slick passes, but they failed to produce the expected output.
After a certain amount of time, Parisians pressed higher up the pitch to suffocate the visitors. Juan Bernat won the ball in a dangerous position and found Angel Di Maria inside the penalty box. The Argentinian struck the ball sweetly to beat Thibaut Courtois in the near-post area. The Belgian failed to react quickly to the situation.
PSG midfielder kept the ball until they found the second goal of the night. The hosts broke through the counter-attack and Meunier found Di Maria making a run behind the penalty box. The former Real Madrid attacker took the shot from outside the box to register his brace. The shot was ferocious and Courtois had no chance to get his hands near that ball.
After the goal celebration, the camera turned toward Kylian Mbappe and Neymar, who sat out in the stands. They had a laughter riot while celebrating this goal.
After this goal, Gareth Bale thought he had pulled one back, but VAR indicated the usage of his arm. Angel Di Maria had another chance in the second half, but the ball did not find the back of the net.
