PV Sindhu qualifies for the semi final of the Korea Open 2017

PV Sindhu kept her good form running as she defeated Mitani of Japan in the quarter finals of Korean Open Super Series 2017 played at Seoul, Korea just few moments ago.

In men’s section Sameer Verma fought well against Son Wo Ho but lost the match in three sets.

In the first match of the day Sameer Verma took on number 1 ranked player Son Wo Ho. The Indian player started on a good note with an early 3-2 lead. Both players fought for each point and it was neck to neck play between these two players.

At the interval, the Korean led 11-10. After the interval, Sameer Verma took a 15-12 lead before Son Wo Ho equalled the score at 16-16.

The number 1 ranked player continued to take points and was leading 19-16. It was a great fightback by the youngster and won the first set 22-20.

The second game started on a positive note with both players levelling the score at 4-4. Son Won Ho showed great domination and took an 11-7 lead for the number 1 ranked player.

After the interval, the Korean player continued to dominate with 21-10 win in second set to force into deciding game.

In the final game, Son Wo Ho showed his great domination right from the start with 5-2 lead in the early stages. Despite Sameer Verma playing well, the Korean player led 11-6. After the interval, Son Wo Hon played brilliant badminton and won the third set 21-13.

In women’s section PV Sindhu took on Mitani of Japan. The Indian player started on good note with a 6-2 lead in early stages. Mitani played aggressive badminton and equalled the score 8-8.

At the mid game interval, Mitani led 11-9. After the interval, both players fought for each point but PV Sindhu held her nerves and won the first set 21-19.

In the second game, Mitani started on an aggressive note taking a 4-1 lead. PV Sindhu played with aggressive intent and equalled the score at 8-8.

At the interval, the World Championship silver medallist led 11-9. After the interval, again both players fought for each point. PV Sindhu made lots of mistakes with Mitani winning the second set 21-16.

PV Sindhu began on a positive note with dominating performance. She took an 6-2 lead and continued to dominate taking a 11-3 lead. After the interval, Sindhu played with lots of intent winning the third set 21-10.

The doubles pair of RankiReddy and C Shetty is yet to play his match.
