Sri Lankan pacer Dushmantha Chameera has been ruled out of the IPL for three weeks following a back injury. Chameera had been acquired by Rajasthan Royals for a sum of Rs 50 lakh.

The 26-year-old Chameera made his debut for Sri Lanka in 2015. He had been part of the squad to New Zealand but didn’t get a game at that time. Recently he was part of Nidahas Trophy in which he picked three wickets in three matches. He had a decent time with the ball in the tournament.
According to a report in ESPNCricinfo, Chameera is having back issues, similar to the ones he suffered in 2016.
“He has had some back stiffness, so we expect it to be three more weeks at least before he can return to bowling. We’ll reassess after that and see where he is.” said Graeme Labrooy, Sri Lanka’s Chief Selector.
Rajasthan Royals’ IPL campaign didn’t start well as they have won only 2 games out of 5 games so far this season. RR is 5th on the points table and have the worst net run rate amongst all teams.
Rajasthan Royals will play their next game against Mumbai Indians (MI) at Sawai Mansingh Stadium on 22nd April.
Mumbai Indians won their last match comfortably against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). They will look to continue their winning momentum and secure a better position on the points table. On the other hand, RR will look to change the momentum and turn into their side.
Here’s the entire Rajasthan squad:
Steve Smith, Benjamin Stokes, Jaydev Unadkat, Sanju Samson, Jofra Archer, Krishnappa Gowtham, Jos Buttler, Ajinkya Rahane, Darcy Short, Rahul Tripathi, Dhawal Kulkarni, Ben Laughlin, Stuart Binny, Dushmantha Chameera, Anureet Singh, Aryaman Vikram Birla, Midhun S, Shreyas Gopal, Prashant Chopra, Jatin Saxena, Ankit Sharma, Mahipal Lomror.
