Watch Rakitic’s goal against Tottenham, which gave Barcelona a 2-0 lead against Tottenham in their Champions League clash.
Barcelona endured a struggling start to the new season, even when they’re first in the La Liga. The Catalan club has scored only 14 points from seven matches, which include a shocking loss to Leganes last week.
Barcelona dropped five points in their last two La Liga matches. Interestingly, in the previous season, Barcelona suffered only one defeat throughout the campaign in April against Levante.
Ernesto Valverde’s side, however, is benefitted from Real Madrid’s slump in form, who are also on 14 points in the league, at second place. The ‘Los Blancos’ also suffered a shock 1-0 defeat at CSKA Moscow in the Champions League last night.
However, Barcelona have made a strong start in their Champions League match against Tottenham Hotspur. The Catalan giants scored through Philippe Coutinho in only the second minute of the match. They soon doubled the lead through Ivan Rakitic.

Ivan Rakitic scored the second goal of the match against Tottenham Hotspur in their clash at Wembley stadium.
I’m not normally one to praise Messi, but never mind his goal scoring, if there’s ever been a better passer of a football I’ve not seen him.

The Croatian midfielder scored a volley after Coutinho retrieved the ball from the goal-line. Lionel Messi found Coutinho in space, but the Brazilian failed on his shot. However, he acrobatically passed the ball to Rakitic, who hit a terrific volley into the goal.
Rakitic was so bad on Sunday, but he’s been on top of his game today.
