During the third qualifying playoff of the ongoing ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Qualifier between UAE and Scotland in Dubai, UAE batsman Rameez Shehzad put on display a breathtaking fielding effort to dismiss Scotland opening batsman George Munsey.
It all happened on the second delivery of the 14th over when Munsey’s attempt of playing a big shot against UAE spinner Ahmed Raza saw him unfortunately losing his wicket after a remarkable catch was taken at long-off.
After Munsey hit the ball down the ground, Shehzad ran towards his left to eventually time his jump to perfection to grab a one-handed stunner.
Munsey, who opened the batting with captain Kyle Coetzer (34), was the second Scottish batsman to get out. Having top-scored for his team due to his fifth T20I half-century, Munsey ended up scoring 65 (43) with the help of two fours and five sixes.
After Coetzer won the toss and chose to bat, Scotland posted a match-winning 198/6 in their allotted quota of 20 overs. Richie Berrington scoring 48 (18) with the help of four fours and three sixes also played a vital role in the batting department for Scotland.
With the Scottish bowlers bundling out the opposition for 108 in 18.3 overs, Scotland won the match by 90 runs. Both Mark Watt and Safyaan Sharif dismissed three batsmen in the second innings.
