Ravindra Jadeja survives injury in road accident

Indian star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja is lucky to have escaped injury in a tragic road accident last night at Jamnagar. The accident took place when the cricketer was with his better half, Riva Solanki. Their car hit a girl riding on her scooty and hurled her to the ground. She suffered minor injuries and was taken to nearby hospital for treatment.

The girl, Preeti Sharma is pursuing her studies in Vidyasagar Institute in Jamnagar. Reports suggest that she received minor injuries and the cricketer’s car also suffered dents. However, a major disaster was averted. The Indian all-rounder also escorted the girl to the hospital following the accident.

It is yet to be ascertained if the accident happened as a result of Ravindra Jadeja’s fault. However, luckily, neither he nor his wife were harmed. Moreover, as per reports, the girl Preeti Sharma was soon discharged from the hospital as well.

Ravindra Jadeja on a break

Ravindra Jadeja is currently taking a well deserved time off from cricket at his hometown. BCCI selectors have decided to give him and other spin spearhead Ravichandran Ashwin rest due to the hectic schedule ahead. Both of them were instrumental in sending India atop the ICC Test Rankings in December last year.

The prolific spin twin of India, Ashwin and Jadeja shared a staggering 54 wickets between themselves in the test series. They also made handy contributions to the bat to help India decimate England 4-0. Moreover, the duo also currently hold the coveted number 1 and number 2 spots in the ICC Test Bowlers’ Rankings.

They were replaced by the duo of Amit Mishra and J&K spinner Parvez Rasool in the team. However, the decision seems to have proven costly as England cruised to victory in the 1st T20 at Kanpur. How India responds in the second match of the series is yet to be seen! This match will be held at Nagpur on Sunday.
