RCB Playing 11 today: Royal Challengers Bangalore Predicted Playing 11 vs RCB | IPL 2019

Royal Challengers Bangalore Playing XI: TheSportsRush presents the predicted playing XI for RCB against Kolkata Knight Riders

The Royal Challengers Bangalore have been having one of their worst IPL campaigns in history, as they struggle at the bottom of the table with 2 points from their 8 games.

They bagged their first points of the season against the Kings XI Punjab, before losing to Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede. The Red Army led by skipper Virat Kohli now play the Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens, with the Indian captain hoping his team can still make their way towards the top four of the table.

The main onus has been on the bowling of RCB, where the lone figure of Yuzvendra Chahal hasn’t received much support by his mates. However, the inclusion of Dale Steyn in the squad will be boosting the morale of the RCB supporters, who have not found a lot of joy this season.

RCB Playing XI:

Top-order:
The name of the two best batters in the world, Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers, have naturally made RCB’s batting their strongest department. Both Kohli and de Villiers have been performing consistently this season, with the latter also scoring an unbeaten 70 in a losing cause against Mumbai.

The likes of Parthiv Patel and Shimron Hetmyer will have to fire against KKR, with the management expecting a lot from the latter. One way or the other, Moeen Ali is expected to be demoted down the order.

Middle-order:
The Indian talent of Shivam Dube and Gurkeerat Singh will hold the important positions in the middle-order, in what looks like a rather weak middle-order. However, the former has shown promise in the innings that he has played so far.

One of Moeen Ali or Colin de Grandhomme will have to be there to finish the innings for RCB. However, RCB’s batting line-up will still be heavily dependent on one of Kohli or de Villiers to carry all the way and finish the innings.

Bowlers:
The inclusion of Dale Steyn will be like a breath of fresh air for the RCB fans, as they will be expecting a lot from the South African legend. Steyn’s inclusion is likely to come at the expense of one of Moeen Ali or Colin de Grandhomme, but it is likely that the latter will sit out as Moeen gives a spin bowling option.

On the other hand, Yuzvendra Chahal has been phenomenal this season, and he will be leading the local bowlers including Mohammed Siraj and Umesh Yadav who have been decent in the recent past but lack consistency.

Playing XI:
1. Parthiv Patel (wk), 2. Virat Kohli (c), 3. AB de Villiers, 4. Shimron Hetmyer, 5. Shivam Dube, 6. Gurkeerat Singh, 7. Moeen Ali, 8. Dale Steyn, 9. Umesh Yadav, 10. Mohammed Siraj, 11. Yuzvendra Chahal
