Real Madrid and Barcelona are gearing up for one hell of a transfer battle, as the two giants will be looking to sign Bayern Munich’s David Alaba.

Already having the services of world class players like Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, Andres Iniesta and more, Barcelona have roped in Ousmane Dembele and Philippe Countinho to bolster their squad.

Growing up to become one of the best left backs in football, David Alaba has come to Ernesto Valverde’s list of long term players at the Camp Nou.
According to Spanish outlet AS, Barcelona’s technical secretary Robert Fernandez has told president Josep Bartomeu to find the funds required to bring the 25-year-old to La Liga ahead of a summer move for Alaba.

While already planning on a £100m swoop for Atletico Madrid’s Antoine Griezmann, Alaba would be a huge difference on the pitch for the Catalans, with his versatility on the field at left back, center back as well as central midfield.
However, should the Austrian international join the Blaugrana, the club would need to force either Lucas Digne or Thomas Vermaelen out – despite both players proving themselves to their new manager so far this season.
