The Brazilian star forward is currently with the national team in Russia.

The speculation surrounding Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure from Real Madrid have gathered more pace and credibility over the last few hours. While Juventus have offered 88m for the Portuguese winger, Ronaldo is also keen on leaving Real Madrid after 9 successful years at the club.

Real Madrid, however, have reportedly identified Ronaldo’s replacement. According to Marca, Florentino Perez is keen on bringing Brazilian forward Neymar to the club. Neymar is currently in Russia, where he is chasing World Cup glory with the national team. Brazil is currently in quarterfinals and will play Belgium later tonight.

Real Madrid, claims Marca, have been long monitoring Neymar as a potential successor to Cristiano Ronaldo, and have now reactivated their interest in the player. Marca reports that Neymar will not only be a good replacement for Ronaldo on the pitch, but is also a huge economic prospect for the club.

Neymar will generate money for all the brands that are associated with Real Madrid.

However, Marca reports that Paris Saint Germain does not want to sell the Brazilian, having acquired his services just one year ago. PSG spend a world record transfer fees on Neymar when he joined the club from Barcelona last summer.

It is also reported that Neymar’s World Cup performances will be a big factor on his transfer saga. In the situation of Neymar winning the World Cup, PSG would resist any bids for Neymar as his chances of winning the Ballon d’Or will substantially increase.
