Man Utd Transfer News: Gary Neville suggests Solskjaer to sign European starlet to bolster the midfield

Gary Neville has suggested Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to sign this midfielder to bolster the squad.

Manchester United are in necessity to upgrade their squad in the forthcoming transfer window. Solskjaer has reiterated that it would take time for the Red Devils to compete with Manchester City and Liverpool, who are currently battling out for the Premier League title.

There is no shortage of money at Old Trafford, but the lack of recruitments have been poor in recent years. That is the main reason for their downfall as they strive to become the Champions of England again.

Their midfield needs a tinkering, especially with Ander Herrera deciding against signing a new contract at Old Trafford. The Spanish International, who is the integral cog Solskjaer’s side is expected to join the French outfit Ander Herrera before the kick start of the next season. Besides, Juan Mata has decided to leave and Fred has been voted as the worst signing of the season after the failure to thrive in a new environment.

Gary Neville has been critical about his players as a pundit. With Ander Herrera leaving, the Red Devils legend has vouched for the Leicester City midfielder Youri Teilemans. The Belgian International is currently with the Foxes until the end of the season from AS Monaco. He has been impressive under the management of Brendan Rodgers who handed him the debut.

However, his form has attracted the attention of a number of top-six sides in the Premier League and Neville dropped a not so subtle suggestion to United while on punditry duty for Sky Sports.

“On Tielemans, I think the issue that Leicester will have is that there are midfields in the top six that need strengthening,” he said.

That prompted a question from Graeme Souness, who suggested United when asking “Who are you talking about?”.

Sky Sports presenter David Jones added “How far away are you looking Gary?” as he looked out of the studio window towards the Old Trafford pitch, ahead of United’s clash with Chelsea.

Here’s how Twitter reacted..

What’s next?
