Rohit Sharma amusingly responds to Mumbai Indians: The captain of the defending champions seemed to be in a jolly mood last night.

Indian Premier League defending champions Mumbai Indians were the first team to buy a player in the recently concluded auction for the 13th season of the tournament.
Australia batsman Chris Lynn’s name was the first name to come up for the auction. Having released by Kolkata Knight Riders, Lynn was bought at his base price of INR 2 crore by MI.
Apart from Lynn, Mumbai also bid for Australia pacer Nathan Coulter-Nile. Involved in a tight contest for the right-arm bowler, Mumbai emerged as the winners as the bought him for a whopping INR 8 crore.

The other four players which MI bought last night were all Indian players. Saurabh Tiwary, who has played for the franchise in the past, was once again bought by them for his base price of INR 50 lakh.
As far as including rookie domestic players, Indians bought the likes of Uttar Pradesh pacer Mohsin Khan (INR 20 lakh), Maharshtra pacer Digvijay Deshmukh (INR 20 lakh) and Punjab all-rounder Prince Balwant Rai Singh.

Mumbai owner Akash Ambani was among the other personalities who were attending the post-auction press conference in Kolkata. The feed of the same was being streamed live on the official Instagram handle of the franchise.

It was at this point in time that captain Rohit Sharma posted an amusing question for the franchise in the comments of the live post. “Where will rohit sharma bat,” asked Sharma on social media platform Instagram.
Sharma, who wasn’t present at the auction, is currently in Cuttack where India will play the third and deciding ODI of the ongoing West Indies’ tour of India. Having scored 405 runs in 15 T20s at an average of 28.92 and a strike rate of 128.57 including two half-centuries, Sharma was the second-highest run-scorer for MI in IPL 2019.
