Rohit Sharma only player to hit double ton in T20 match; claims Brad Hogg

Rohit Sharma, the explosive Indian batsman is the only player according to Brad Hogg who can score a double ton in a T20 match.

Rohit Sharma is the only player in the world who has scored a double ton twice in the ODI format in his career. the explosive batsman has the highest runs by an individual in the (264) same format.

Now, Brad Hogg, the former Australian International claims that Rohit is the only batsman in the world who can achieve a double century in the T20 format too.

A fan on Twitter asked Hogg, who he thinks will hit a double century first in the T20 format and the spinner chose Rohit in his reply while citing his illustrative strike rate in the game.

“Rohit Sharma at presently is the only player I think capable of it. Good strike rate, all timing, and plays cricketing shots finding six options all around the ground, “Hogg tweeted.

Rohit Sharma undoubtedly has a great figure in the T20 format. In 328 T20 matches with 8642 runs at an average of 32.24 and six centuries to his name. His highest score is 118 and he also has 60 fifties to his name at a strike-rate of 133.71.

Rohit last T20 games were during the series against Newzealand, but during then the player picked an injury and has been out of action since then. Meanwhile, even India hasn’t played any T20I games.

The Mumbai Indians’ captain was set to return in the format during the coming IPL edition but due to the Coronavirus threat, the whole tournament has been postponed.

Nevertheless, Rohit will play a crucial role in India’s campaign during the T20I world cup set to take off in Australi in the coming August, so one can wait for the t20I ton over there by Rohit.
