Rohit Sharma talks about Ritika Sajdeh’s impact on his game

Rohit Sharma made his captaincy debut for India in the recently concluded series with Sri Lanka, whitewashing the Lankan lions 3-0 in the T20I series while winning the ODI series 2-1.

The Mumbai opener is arguably one of India’s finest limited-overs product, smashing massive runs in recent times.

Rohit has scored 1,293 ODI runs in 2017, being an important part of India’s successful home season in 2017. Rohit has smashed some huge knocks in the past year, and has got his name in the record books for ODIs.

The 30-year-old has smashed a record-breaking 100 off just 35 balls against Sri Lanka in Indore, becoming the fastest T20I centurion along with South Africa’s David Miller.

The Mumbai local has also smashed his 3rd double-century in the 2nd ODI against Sri Lanka in Mohali, becoming the first player to do so. While Rohit has smashed 3 ODI double tons, all the other batters have 4 ODI double tons combined.

In both outstanding records, the 30-year-old has one thing common, besides smashing the bowlers. Rohit’s life-partner, Ritika Sajdeh, was in attendance in the stands, and it appeared to have brought out the best in the opener.

As a consequence, there has been a joke in the Indian team, revealing Ritika to be the 17th player of the Indian team. The Mumbai local revealed his wife has played an integral role in bringing out the best in him.

Rohit revealed in an interview with Cricbuzz, “Yeah, that’s funny. Even I heard that one. She and I definitely make a great team. She’s been a great support as a wife, friend, manager, everything and that’s just adding to the freedom with which I can express myself on the field.”
