Around two decades ago, Ronaldo was widely considered to be the best football player in the world. The Brazilian was an absolute beast as he tore defenses apart with consummate ease and style.
Tall, strong and extremely quick, Ronaldo was incredibly difficult to play against as the Samba king helped elevate Inter Milan to the upper echelons of Europe. In the late 90s, Serie A was the toughest league in the world and was home to some of the best players in the world.

Ronaldo had moved to Inter after just one season for Barcelona in which he plundered 47 goals in just 51 games that season. But after a falling out with the Barcelona board, the striker decided to leave the Catalan giants and move to Italy.
It was a huge move at the time as no one could have expected it to take place. Quite similar to what another Brazilian did earlier this summer.
Neymar’s stunning move to PSG is easily one of the more shocking transfers in the history of the game. Yes the money involved was huge but the fact that Neymar wanted to leave a club of Barcelona’s stature was a huge shock for the footballing world.
Many felt that Neymar’s desire to no longer remain in Messi’s shadow was one of the prime motives for his huge move. But Ronaldo feels that there might have been another reason for him leaving Barcelona.
“Neymar’s exit from Barca was a bit like mine. I went to Inter when the Italian league was much stronger than France is now.
“I don’t have the details and I don’t know what was behind the negotiation [for Neymar]. Maybe everything came from problems with the Barcelona board, as was the case with me. I’d do it again.”
