Cristiano Ronaldo’s mother is ‘fighting for life’ after she had breast surgery and underwent radiotherapy.
Juventus forward Cristiano Ronaldo‘s mother, Dolores Aviero, has revealed that she is fighting for her life after undergoing breast surgery.
Mrs. Aviero is a breast cancer survivor, having beaten the life-threatening disease more than a decade ago.
Ronaldo’s mother has now revealed that she had surgery on her other breast, as well as a new course of radiotherapy.
“‘I was operated on another breast in Madrid, I’ve had radiotherapy and now I’m fighting for my life,” Mrs. Aviero told a Portuguese TV station (via Daily Mail) on Thursday.
In 2009, Cristiano Ronaldo, who played for Manchester United at that time, donated £100,000 to build a cancer centre at the hospital which saved his mother’s life.
He also gave a generous gift to the Portuguese League Against Cancer in his native Madeira to build a centre for cancer in the Hospital Central in island’s capital.
Mrs. Aviero also addressed the claims of sexual assault on Cristiano Ronaldo in the television appearance.
