CSK finally move out of their Chennai den and are off to Jaipur for the start of their first long road trip this season. In the reverse fixture at Chepauk, CSK did what they do to every visiting team; blew them away.

Now, with RR reeling at the bottom of the table, involved in a tussle with RCB to stay off the bottom of the table. Playing against CSK at home, Ajinkya Rahane and co. would be hoping that they can get on a little winning run at this stage and start this late surge towards a playoff spot.

CSK could now be put under the pump, as they will be up against teams that play on relatively flat decks. The spin trick wouldn’t quite win it for CSK now and their batsmen will have to step up to the plate and get the job done for the team.

Wicketkeeper for RR vs CSK Dream 11

For the wicketkeeping slot, it is going to be a direct shootout between Jos Buttler and MS Dhoni. While MS Dhoni has had a wonderful IPL until now, I would go in with Jos Buttler, who too has been striking the ball as good as Dhoni and bats way higher than the former Indian captain.

Also, with Rayudu slotting in at number 4, MS Dhoni is almost certain to bat at 5 or 6, thereby reducing his Dream 11 Fantasy potential. Moreover, Buttler has been brilliant at Jaipur and that warrants him a place in my side.

Bowlers for RR vs CSK Dream 11

The Jaipur track is also known for being notoriously slow, especially in the first innings when there is next to no dew. Considering how the duo of Imran Tahir and Harbhajan Singh have been performing at the Chepauk, one would have to bring them in on another surface that might assist them.

On current form, both Bhajji and Tahir deserve a place in your squad. Get the duo in.

For my final bowling pick, I would be getting in Jofra Archer, the one RR bowler who has actually posed a considerable threat to the batsmen. Now, while he hasn’t been amongst the wickets this season, he has done everything right to have picked up a fair share of scalps.

His role in the RR setup is of a death bowler and the pace that he can generate is good enough to warrant a place in my side. Also, he is coming up against a CSK batting unit that is not very good at posting big scores as they don’t really have lower order batsmen that can torment opposition bowlers.

2 overs the death with no much threat of being torn part; Archer seems like the best RR bowling pick.

All-Rounders for RR vs CSK Dream 11

Ben Stokes will be the first all-rounder that I draft in to my side for this game. Again, Stokes hasn’t quite set the IPL on fire this year, but his role in the RR team is enough to draft him in. Stokes bats at 5 and gets to bowl at least two overs at the death, thereby giving him ample opportunity to shower me with fantasy points.

The CSK batting unit isn’t quite known to go big during the death overs, thereby giving Stokes a good chance to pick up a few wickets at the death. Moreover, if the wicket does not end up assisting the spinners, the CSK bowling unit is one of the easiest ones to feed on when one is on song. Get him in.

For the second All-Rounder pick, I would be getting in Ravindra Jadeja. I am trying to cover my bases with this pick. Jaddu’s major utility is with the ball and he could be lethal on a slow, turning surface, as he has the ability to catch the batsmen off guard with the one that slides on straight.

Also, with RR having 5 right handers in the top 6, Jaddu could be very handy and will bowl out his 4 overs for sure. Also, he could come in handy with the long handle during CSK’s batting and could help you to a few extra points.

Batsmen for RR vs CSK Dream 11

I have tried to get in the best batsmen from both teams, at all times trying to invest only in top order batsmen.

From CSK, according to current form and conditions, Suresh Raina and Faf du Plessis are the best picks. Faf has been in brilliant touch ever since he was drafted in by CSK a couple of days back. Battinf during the powerplay, Faf has been able to use his attacking and touch play to good effect. On current form, he is the first batsman you should be drafting.

Suresh Raina has been in brilliant touch this season, hitting the ball fro the middle, but then finding ways to get out just when he is about to tee off. However, on a track that could assist spin, there is not better batsman than Raina to play touch cricket and also take the attack to the opposition.

Steve Smith scored a brilliant 73 of 59 balls in RR’s last home game against KKR, one that was largely neutralised by the Narine-Lynn show. However, it showed that Smith had it in him to score runs on a challenging, slow surface. Get him in for this game.

The RR batting unit hasn’t quite fired this season. Ajinkya Rahane’s technique and batting position tilt me towards him, as the Dream 11 points system favours the batsmen, I have decided to place my bets on Rahane, who gets the best possible conditions to score some runs on that Jaipur track(when the ball is hard and new).

For my final batting pick, I was torn between Rayudu and Jadhav. I have decided to go in with Jadhav, especially if CSK bat first, because if the top order fires, Rayudu might be pushed down the order. Jadhav will then be used higher up the order to unleash is big hitting skills during the death bowlers.

But if you feel, you want to go ahead with Rayudu, get him in only if CSK batting first.
