Cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar is part of the committee who gets to decide the next head coach of team India. According to reports, Tendulkar has backed former India coach Ravi Shastri to resume his position as the head coach of team India.

Shastri was the coach before Kumble and whilst he was in charge, he shared a wonderful rapport with Kohli. Kohli has also publicly appreciated the efforts of Shastri, which is why he would love to have Shastri as the new head coach.

Anil Kumble’s resignation was met with widespread surprise, as most people imagined that Kohli and Kumble would eventually solve their differences. It also piled on a lot of pressure on Kohl.

Kohli has come under the spotlight for various reasons over the past week. His decision to field first in the final, his failure with the bat and then his alleged role in Kumble’s dismissal as the coach has put a lot of pressure on the star batsman.

From various source, we have learnt that Kohli and Kumble were not on speaking terms during the Champions trophy. The pair had little to no interaction, with several team members feeling that it did not lead to a conducive environment.

From then on, the BCCI had to choose between either Kohli or Kumble, which was basically no choice at all. And now, they need to choose between a host of applicants to become the next head coach of the team.

With Kohli on his side and now Sachin favouring him, it looks like Ravi Shastri is the front runner in this race.
