Sadio Mane: Barcelona fans start a petition to ban Liverpool’s forward for slapping Vidal during the first leg of the semi-final clash.

Barcelona fans were furious after Liverpool’s forward slapped Arturo Vidal in Blaugrana’s 3-0 victory against the Reds. It is believed that this petition is in response to the petition took out by Liverpool fans against Lionel Messi, when the latter allegedly punched Fabhino in the same match.

The petition by Barcelona fans gained support of more than 2,000 fans. Whereas, Liverpool’s petition is about to reach more than 11,000 signatures.

However, Mane’s violent reaction to a fair challenge by Vidal was shocking for the football world. The reaction was possibly out of frustration as Liverpool performance was appreciable but got a 3-0 beating in the most anticipated match of the tournament.

Now, Jurgen Klopp’s side has a mountain to climb on Tuesday, when Liverpool will be clashing the Azulgranas. On the other hand, Ernesto Valverde has rested his key players for Barcelona’s outing against Celta Vigo. Hence, Barcelona is fully focused at securing the finale berth of the Champions league.

However, such online petitions would not bring any outcome and are ludicrous, as all these instances happened in the heat of the moment. Rather, these petitions are being created due to the internet war between the two fan bases.

What’s next for Liverpool?

Liverpool’s title race still haven’t come to an end, as they are only one point behind Manchester City with last two games remaining. The Reds will face Newcastle away tonight.
