Sai Praneeth to receive Rs 3 Lakh Cash Award from BAI
Sai Praneeth is having a wonderful last few weeks. He won the Singapore Super Series and the Thailand Open and is now set to receive a huge cash prize from BAI, for his services towards Indian badminton.
The Badminton Association of India President, Hemanta Biswa Sarma, announced that Sai Praneeth will be receiving a Rs 3 Lakh cash prize for winning the recently concluded Thailand Open.
Praneeth fended off a tough challenge from Jonatan Christie of Indonesia to win the title in 3 gruelling sets of Badminton.
“It is a matter of extreme pride for me and the whole of BAI to see Sai take the podium in Thailand. I called him right after the game and congratulated him,”
This is the first time Praneeth has won two back to back titles and is currently on an 11 match unbeaten streak.
The secretary general of the BAI President also spoke highly of Sai Praneeth and his current form in the World Badminton Circuit.
“It is great day for Indian badminton. We are really elated at Sai’s achievement and to celebrate that Dr. Sarma on behalf of BAI has announced a cash reward of 3 lakh for the champion’s stellar display in Bangkok.”
