The Saina Nehwal biopic will release in 2018
Ever since the success of Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, Bollywood is trying to milk sport biopics. People want to deep dive into the lives of their sporting heroes and Bollywood provides the best outlet for this. Almost all big production houses and big stars are opting to bring to the silver screen the struggle and triumph of India’s sporting heroes. A couple of months ago, we found out that Sharddha Kapoor will play the lead in Saina Nehwal’s much awaited biopic. And now, we have learnt that the Saina Nehwal biopic will release in 2018.
Saina Nehwal’s biopic is the newest entrant in this category. While the news of the biopic had been out for some time, there was no clarity as to who would play Saina in the movie. It was finally decided that Shraddha will play the lead, as she will play the iconic badminton player on celluloid.

“Most girls have played badminton at some point in their lives in school. I feel so lucky to be playing Saina, who’s not just been the world’s No. 1 badminton player, but is also a youth icon. I can’t wait to start prepping for my role,” Kapoor said, in an interview with Bombay Times.
When Saina was asked about her thoughts on the upcoming biopic, she said that he feels Shraddha would do a great job in the film. She also took it as a compliment that Sharaddha was playing her part, as she feels the actress is a very good looking girl.
Shraddha will start her training very soon, will the film set to hit the floors early next year. As fans, we cannot wait for 2018 to come !
