Sampdoria tweet for Torreira: Sampdoria sent out a tweet for Arsenal fans on Lucas Torreira after his brilliant display against Huddersfield.
Arsenal maintain their unbeaten run across all competitions, and extended it to 21 games with a 1-0 win over Huddersfield. The side remains at 5th in the league, but are on level at points with Chelsea, who beat Manchester City in another game last night.
Lucas Torreira starred for Arsenal on the night, as he scored a terrific overhead kick to win the game for the Gunners.
The goal came inside the final ten minutes of the game, with Unai Emery desperate to find the winner. The Spaniard was seen directing the passes for Arsenal players – an act which he was seen doing in the North London derby as well.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang managed to cross the ball from a tight angle, and Torreira completed the move with a spectacular bicycle kick.
Sampdoria tweet for Torreira:
In a desperate attempt to find the winner, Arsenal pushed players to attack in the final minutes of the game. A cross from midfielder Matteo Guendouzi found Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
The striker was closed down quickly, however, but Aubameyang managed to cross the ball towards Torreira, who attempted an incredible bicycle kick to give Arsenal the lead.
His former club, Sampdoria, didn’t miss the action as well, and hit up with a perfect response to Torreira’s outrageously brilliant performances for the Gunners.
Note to all @Arsenal fans: please don’t clog up our match tweets today thanking us for @LTorreira34. We’re going to set up a dedicated ‘Thanks for #Torreira‘ email address where you can send us all your thank you messages. Watch this space…
