Sergio Perez releases official statement regarding his move to send Force India to administration
Sergio Perez has been through a lot in the last few days with Force India suffering from a critical financial situation and ultimately going into administration yesterday.
Reports had emerged that Sergio Perez had initiated the legal proceedings as the team owed him close to $4 million.
Perez received a lot of slack on social media regarding his move, terming it as ‘selfish’.
However, Perez has now gone onto social media to clarify his part in sending Force India into administration, a path that he took along with BWT and Mercedes in order to save the team and the jobs of 400 people associated with it.
In his post, Sergio Perez disclosed that one of the creditors wanted Force India to wind up and had taken a strict legal action towards that.
In order to prevent that, Perez(being one of the creditors) was advised to take a different legal procedure, one which would send the team into administration and ultimately save the team.
Perez revealed that this move was pretty tough to execute as they got a hearing just in time with the court.
“Thank you everyone for your support, better days are coming” Sergio Perez tweeted.
Thank you everyone for your support, better days are coming! 🙏🙌 ••• Gracias a todos por su apoyo, vendrán días mejores!!! 🙏🙌 pic.twitter.com/A8466Umd2x

It is so heartwarming to see that Perez decided to get involved in ugly legal and financial matters with the sole motive of saving the team and all the employees that worked with him.
Hopefully, now that the team is into administration, some suitable investor comes in, buys out the team, pays off the debts and brings Force India back to where it belongs in the F1 world.
