Seth Rollins: The former Universal champion talks about the upcoming RAW Reunion and Paul Heyman’s leadership

Seth Rollins: The former Universal champion talks about the upcoming RAW Reunion and Paul Heyman’s leadership ahead of the historic episode on Monday next week.

The WWE has been in the midst of a ratings drop as of late. This does not bode well for a company looking for its big money move to fox this coming fall. The WWE has employed several methods to improve these falling ratings.

They have bought in legends such as the Undertaker and Goldberg, teased Lesnar’s cash in when they had no intention of ever allowing that to happen on tv. They have introduced the 24/7 champion and have undergone leadership changes in the company.

While most of them have worked, they’ve seemed more like bandages on a wound that certainly needs to be treated differently. The ones out of all of this has given the WWE a sureshot momentary rating boosts is appearances from Legends. It is therefore not surprising that the WWE for no rhyme or reason, announces a whole episode dedicated to them.

The Raw Reunion slated for Monday Next week will feature the likes of Stone Cold Steve Austin, Hulk Hogan, Shawn Michaels, Ric Flair, Diesel, Razor Ramon, Jimmy Hart and Christian among a host of others.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Seth Rollins expressed his merriment over the historic episode.

He said:

“It’s always nice, because we don’t get to do this very often. Whenever we get to pay homage to the stars of yesteryear, it’s a really cool experience. I’m looking forward to seeing Stone Cold, Shawn Michaels, Hulk Hogan and guys like that; guys I grew up looking up to. It’s always humbling to be involved on the same kind of show as they are.”

The Former Universal Champion also revealed his excitement at being a WWE wrestler.

“I’m always excited because everyone in that creative department puts their money on the line every week.”

“You never know when it is going to be your last opportunity to go out there and hit a run. Everybody [in creative] works really hard to put out the best, three-hour show each and every week.”

A more stable and long-term solution to the ratings problem is the way in which the WWE conducts. The WWE has taken important steps towards that by placing Paul Heyman and Eric Bischoff as Executive Directors of Raw and SmackDown respectively.

Rollins, a Raw Superstar, exhibited confidence and faith in his new Executive Director.

“Having Paul Heyman on board in that role will only help streamline ideas. Paul obviously has a history of being an ideas guy, and a creative person in our industry for years and years. Hopefully, he will only help facilitate a brilliant show from week-to-week.”

Like most combat sports enthusiasts, his passion for watching people fight began with WWE when he witnessed a young Brock Lesnar massacre Hulk Hogan back in 2002. This very passion soon branched out to boxing and mixed martial arts. Over the years he fell in love with the theatrics that preceded the bell and the poetic carnage that followed after. Each bruise a story to tell, each wound a song of struggle, his greatest desire is to be there to witness it all. His favorite wrestler is Shawn Michaels and he believes that GSP is the greatest to ever step foot inside the octagon. Apart from wrestling, he is also fond of poetry and music.
