Sheffield United vs Arsenal: 3 players who could change the game on their own| Premier League 2019/20

Sheffield United vs Arsenal: 3 players who could change the game on their own in the Premiers League encounter between the Blades and the Gunners.

Arsenal have received a fair bit of criticism for their performance this season. The north London though, side have remained unbeaten in their last 5 matches in the Premier League so far. However, their away form remains a cause for concern.

The Gunners have only once on the road this season. In Sheffield United, they face a spirited side who almost held on for a draw against Liverpool. However, Sheffield themselves have had quite a mixed season so far. The Blades plucked a point from Chelsea but failed to beat relegation contenders Watford.

The last time the two clubs faced each other was in the League Cup in 2008. Arsenal dominated the encounter 11 years back with the score line 6-0 in their favour. However, their affair this time around may not be as one sided this time around.

Both clubs will look to continue their momentum and progress in the league. Here are 3 players who could swing the fortunes in the favour of their club in the Sheffield United vs Arsenal Match.

#3. Nicolas Pepe (Arsenal)

Nicolas Pepe has not lit the Premier League on fire yet. However, the Ivorian winger is a class player who could very well hit his stride sooner than later. Pepe has shown his brilliance in glimpses and once he hits the ground running, he along with Lacazette and Aubameyang could spell doom for defenders in the Premier League.

Pepe may not have the stats or a good run of form heading into the match. However, the winger has shown a willingness to put up a fight and the gumption to prove his worth within the team. The Ivorian always shows up for the ball instead of hiding.

Every time he has possession of the ball, he attempts to create something out of it instead of playing it safe like most other players who are out of form do. The Ivorian could very likely prove to be Arsenal’s trump card when he finally settles in and the match tonight could very well be the start of it.

#2. John Lundstram (Sheffield United)

John Lundstram has been key to Sheffield United’s performance this season. The industrious midfielder has helped the side pick key points through his invaluable performance. If the Blades want to extract revenge for the beating they received 11 years back, Lundstram will have to be at the forefront of their performance.

Lundstram’s decision to leave Everton for greener pastures have proved to be fruitful for the 25-year old. However, neither the club nor the player would be satisfied by just reaching the Premier League. An impressive showing against Arsenal would be the perfect way to announce to the world that they’re here to stay.

#1. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (Arsenal)

The Gabonese striker has been Godsent for Arsenal. Aubameyang has scored goals in bulk for the North London side and helped the club to what little achievements they’ve had over the last year or so. Last season he won the Golden Boot in the Premier League and already has 8 goals to his name this season.

He is the Primary reason Arsenal have climbed the ranks silently behind Liverpool and Manchester City. Should he continue his form, Arsenal could very well become the dark horses in the Premier League race. However, their immediate concern will be Sheffield United and their woeful away form.

If Arsenal are to overturn their poor showing on the road, Aubameyang will have to play a crucial role. With Lacazette back in the fold, Aubameyang will probably have a much easier time tearing up Sheffield’s defences as he links up with an equally brilliant player who understands his gameplay.
