Shikhar Dhawan's thigh-five

Shikhar Dhawan’s thigh-five: The Indian opening batsman was seen entertaining the crowd during the presentation ceremony.

During the third T20I of the ongoing India’s tour of Australia at Sydney, India defeated Australia by six wickets to draw level the three-match series 1-1. It was a clinical performance by the visitors, who were anchored by their captain Virat Kohli in another run chase.

It was yet another archetype match where Kohli’s heroics came good for the Indian team on the given day. Before Kohli’s arrival in the middle, the Indian openers in Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan had stitched a 67-run brisk opening stand for India.

Dhawan, who was adjourned the ‘Man of the Series’, played a blinder at the top to put India in a place of comfort. Severe against Australia’s pacers, Dhawan ended up scoring 41 (22) with the help of six fours and two sixes.

Despite playing only a couple of innings in the series, Dhawan remained the only batsman to register 100+ runs in the series, scoring 117 runs at an average of 58.50 and a strike rate of 182.81.

Apart from entertaining the audiences with the bat, Dhawan is usually seen doing something or the other for them on while fielding.

Today was another such occasion when he held a person in his arms during the presentation ceremony. While talking to the anchor, Dhawan was also seen doing his signature step in the ‘thigh-five’.

The 32-year old cricketer thanked the Indian crowd, who had come in majority to support their country. Well aware of the fact that the crowd enjoys him engaging with them, Dhawan hoped that they will continue to support them during the Test series.

“Guess they love me a lot and I’ll make them cheer more thigh-slaps Tremendous to see Indian support. I’m sure they’ll support us for the Tests too. It was fun. As a batsman, when you score it always feels good. It’s good that we were able to draw this series,” Dhawan was quoted as saying.
