Shroud Gaming Setup : In terms of getting the absolute best gaming performance out there, Shroud’s name probably pops up more than once. Being an ex-CS: GO pro means that he has always played at the highest quality possible.
So how much does it cost?
With his latest PC build, just the CPU and GPU combined are more expensive most of the gaming population’s builds. The Zen 3 5950X, with its mind-boggling 16 cores costs a whopping $800.
The RTX 3090 costs $1,500! Just the CPU’s and GPU’s combined worth could get you a top of the line gaming PC! This level of hardware coupled with his Gigabit Ethernet connection makes his setup heaven for any gaming fanatic.
Not to mention that this is Shroud’s second RTX 3090. So, he owns $3,000 worth of graphics cards as well as a couple of RTX Titans that he has catching dust in his attic…
However, as if this wasn’t enough, due to the mere 1 TB M.2 SSD space that this PC build has, he plans on making this PC his streaming rig. He also said that he will probably buy another rig for gaming with more storage space on board and make that his gaming rig.
So, if that happens, he would have $4,500 worth of just 30 Series graphics cards in his possession. Being one of the most popular gamers on the planet has its perks! This is one of the side effects of having over 20,000 people watch you download your game for your new PC rig.
What does this level of hardware translate to in gaming performance?
Unfortunately, Shroud’s FPS overlay wasn’t working properly for some reason at the time. However, we do have benchmarks from different gaming rigs that have the same specs. The following is the performance, in terms of average FPS, of the 3090 with the 5950X at 1080p, 1440p and 4K resolutions:
- Red Dead Redemption 2: 1080p: 163 fps; 1440p: 146 fps; 4K: 101 fps.
- Battlefield V: 1080p: 200 fps; 1440p: 188 fps; 4K: 115 fps.
- CS: GO: 1080p: 751 fps; 1440p: 566 fps; 4K: 402 fps.
- Rainbow Six Seige: 1080p: 498 fps; 1440p: 368 fps; 4K: 205 fps.
