Sir Alex ferguson and Cristiano Ronaldo- A beautiful relatiosnhip
Sir Alex Ferguson bought Cristiano Ronaldo from Sporting in the 2003/04 season for £12.24 million; making him the most expensive teenager in English football history at the time. Together, the duo won a multitude of trophies including the Champions League in the 2007/08 season.
Cristiano Ronaldo had said of Ferguson:
“He’s been my father in sport, one of the most important and influential factors in my career.”
Ronaldo had long desired a move to Real Madrid but delayed his transfer to the Spanish Giant at Ferguson’s behest. Ferguson, on his part, kept his promise and allowed him to leave for Real Madrid in 2009 despite his apparent disdain for the Royal whites.
It is sweet to see Ferguson still as fond of Ronaldo a decade after they parted ways. The duo are bona fide Manchester United legends and it will surely please them to see this message. On the contrary, it would also remind them of where they used to be and where they are now.
