Sokratis on Harry Kane: The Arsenal defender was solid against Tottenham in the derby, and has now spoken about Harry Kane.
Arsenal extended their unbeaten run into 19 games across competitions as they thumped Tottenham in the North London derby.
Unai Emery’s side made a terrific comeback in the game after going down 1-2 at half time to beat Pochettino’s side 4-2. Arsenal were solid at the back after a sloppy moment for the first goal.
After the game, Sokratis talked to Chris Wheatley from football website ‘Goal’, where he talked in length about the North London derby.
Sokratis was solid for Arsenal in the derby, as the defence regrouped and delivered a terrific display in the second half, neutralising the threats from Tottenham’s attack.
Sokratis also talked about Harry Kane in the interview:
Sokratis on Harry Kane:
The Greek defender insisted that Harry Kane is one of the best strikers in the world, but not in the derby.
“He’s a very good player, of course. He’s one of the best strikers in the world – but not today,” Sokratis told Wheatley.
Super happy with Sokratis, didn’t like his slobby start, but look at him now, definitely one of the best CBs in the #EPL, for £14m he’s an absloute steal if he keeps that form. #COYG pic.twitter.com/rFBHVWrPo1

Harry Kane scored a penalty goal against Arsenal in the derby, but did little to trouble the Arsenal defenders as Unai Emery’s side closed him down.
Sokratis was written off by a lot of fans before he even started a game because of 2-3 clips of individual errors from his 5 year stay at Dortmund. So far, he’s proving a lot of people wrong. He’s added steel and leadership to the defense & looks solid whenever he’s featured.

Sokratis also stated that Arsenal was a much better side in the derby, and that they played like a team.
“We lost our concentration for 10 minutes after 30 minutes of the game. In the first half and second half we were much better and could have scored more goals. I think today there was only one team on the pitch.
Sokratis shows great strength to see the ball run out for a goal-kick, then celebrates with Mustafi and Holding. Love that about him. Proper defender.

“I think today we were much better,” Sokratis said.
The Arsenal defender also talked about Lucas Torreira, who scored his first goal for the club since joining the side this summer. Sokratis insisted that Torreira is important to the side, and his partnership with Granit Xhaka makes it easy to defend.

“Lucas is a very good player also and a very good guy,” said Sokratis. “I think he’s also very important for our team. It’s the same for Granit, they know when they have to go and when they have to stay which makes it more easy for us at the back.”
