Solskjaer on Rashford and Martial

Solskjaer on Rashford and Martial: The duo has stepped up under the caretaker manager ever since his arrival in December.

Manchester United have been in fine form since the appointment of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. The Norwegian caretaker manager is yet to lose a game under his charge at the club.

The side climbed to the fifth position in the league table last weekend with a win over Leicester City. The players are enjoying the football under Solskjaer, and attackers like Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial have stepped up under the interim manager’s charge.

The caretaker manager has also praised the duo on multiple occasions during the press conferences.

However, he has made a bold claim this time in an interview with Sky Sports.

Solskajer on Rashford and Martial:

The interim manager has brought fast, counter-attacking football back to Manchester United.

The style has worked brilliantly for the side so far, as is pretty evident from the away wins at Arsenal and Tottenham.

While there are many differences between the side which won the Champions League in 2008 and the current squad, Solskjaer laid down the similarities between his current players and the ones who played an influential role in the European victory.

“Even though we have different players, Marcus and Anthony are not very different to Cristiano and Wayne,” Solskjaer said.

The Norwegian attacker has played with Ronaldo and Rooney during his time at Manchester United.

“Jesse with his pace and Ji-Sung, there are so many similarities, and we should never forget those games because they are part of our history.”

“My belief is to trust players and to trust them to play the right way. To try to dominate teams, to try to win games the right way. To play the way that we do now with Manchester United.”

The side will aim to create pressure on the fourth-placed Chelsea when they take on Fulham in the league this weekend.

Manchester United will host Paris Saint Germain in the first leg of the round-of-16 tie of the Champions League next week.
