Ganguly clears the air on response to Sachin Tendulkar

Ganguly clears the air on response to Sachin Tendulkar: The former India captain took to Twitter to throw light on his statement.

The debate on the Indian cricket team playing against Pakistan in the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 doesn’t seem to reach its culmination. Since the unfortunate Pulwama attacks, the furore is prevalent on both news channels and social media.

Although mixed, the debate has allured responses from former Indian cricketers such as Sunil Gavaskar, Kapil Dev, Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly and current cricketers such as Harbhajan Singh. Even India captain Virat Kohli was asked about his stance on the same during a recent press conference.

Ganguly was recent quoted by The Times of India saying that Tendulkar wants the two points against Pakistan whereas I want the World Cup for the Indian team.

“He [Tendulkar] wants two points against Pakistan, I want the World Cup. Whichever way you look at it. This is a 10 team World Cup and each team plays matches against every other team. If India doesn’t play a match in the World Cup, it won’t be an issue,” Ganguly was quoted as saying.

The former captain’s words didn’t go down well in the media and were perceived to be in contrast with Tendulkar’s comments. Just when there were murmurs about the both being at odds with each other, Ganguly took to social media platform Twitter to clear the air regarding the same.

The 46-year old said that his comments had nothing to do with Tendulkar and that they both were, are and will remain good friends. Read Ganguly’s tweet below:

When not watching cricket, he is mostly found in a cinema hall watching a Punjabi movie.
