BREAKING: Kedar Jadhav ruled out of Sri Lanka ODI series
In what comes as a huge blow for the Indian cricket team management, Kedar Jadhav has been ruled out of the ODI series against Sri Lanka due to a hamstring injury that he suffered during training.
Washington Sundar has been called in as a replacement, marking a stellar week for the 18 year old, who received his national call up for the T20 international side earlier this week.
Kedar Jadhav had been doing a lot of rehabilitation work at the NCA Academy in Bangalore but couldn’t make it in time for the series, despite Rohit Sharma’s claim that Jadhav would make it to the XI for the first ODI tomorrow.
The Indian cricket team has been struggling to find a stable number 4, and Jadhav was one of those who could have slotted into the role, having been deployed at that position during the New Zealand series.
India would have wanted to give him a longer stint at that position, but an injury would now dent India’s plans, who would now have to look at DK or Pandey for that position(for the SL series).
