In the second innings, Hyderabad’s opening duo in David Warner and Jonny Bairstow (61*) scored individual half-centuries to lay down the foundation for the others to follow. Despite Warner getting out in the last over of the powerplay, his whirlwind innings followed by Bairstow’s playing till the end saw the hosts sealing the chase in the 17th over.

Before getting out, Warner ended up scoring 50 (25) with the help of 10 fours. The southpaw was awarded the ‘Man of the Match’ for his superlative knock.

Speaking during the post-match presentation, Warner opened up on his individual failures in the last two matches but also hailed the constant support which he has received of late.

“Sometimes we have been a bit hesitant, against Kings [XI Punjab] the wicket was quite tough. Me and Jonny have been mixing and matching quite well. Here the wicket was two-paced. I had fantastic support, not from Australia but India as well,” Warner said.
