The 33rd game of the Indian Premier League will be held between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Chennai Super Kings at Rajiv Gandhi Stadium, Hyderabad on Wednesday. Coming on the back of three defeats on the bounce, the hosts will not have a fantastic opportunity to change the fortunes in front of their home crowd.
Despite playing in front of their own supporters, the sunrisers will have to come up against the table-toppers Chennai Super Kings, who have lost just once from the first eight games. The Dhoni-led side have won four consecutive games and are looking to seal the top two position as soon as possible.
SRH vs CSK – What numbers suggest?
These two sides have faced off 11 times in the history of the Indian Premier League before. Chennai Super Kings have been far by the best side in this fixture with nine wins, whereas, Sunrisers have secured just two victories. Even the history does not suggest Hyderabad at Rajiv Gandhi Stadium, winning just once from three games.

With the bat and ball, Chennai Super Kings have been simply dominant. The average score for Sunrisers Hyderabad is 169, whilst Chennai Super Kings have averaged 180 runs against the hosts.
SRH Vs CSK – Paper value
On paper, both the sides look equally balanced in all departments. However, Chennai Super Kings are in scintillating form, with their batting, bowling and fielding clicking altogether. At the other side, Hyderabad have been let down by one of batting or bowling department which is the major reason for the downfall in recent days.
With the likes of Mohamed Nabi, Rashid Khan, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Sandeep Sharma, and Siddarth Kaul, the bowling of Hyderabad looks sufficient, but they have not hit the heights expected from them. The top order of Chennai have not looked significant this season and the bowlers will have to clean them up as soon as possible to give the batsmen some hope.
Jonny Bairstow, David Warner, and Vijay Shankar have scored the majority of runs for the hosts and the in-form Deepak Chahar and Imran Tahir will be hoping to take their wickets in the starting overs of the game.
History and current form suggests Chennai Super Kings, and out of confidence, Sunrisers Hyderabad could face another defeat against the league toppers.
