It has been a riveting Test Series between Australia and India with both teams going that extra mile to outwit and outplay the opposition. Runs, catches, wickets, tantrums, sledging and injuries; fans have been exposed to every sort of skill and emotion that could be possible on and off the field. Maybe this is why the India-Australia rivalry is considered the fiercest of all current rivalries.
The Australians have suffered multiple setbacks after their loss in Bangalore, with Mitch Marsh and Mitch Starc ruled out of the remainder of the series. While it’s all going downhill for the Australians, the Indians have received a major boost with regards to personnel, as Mohammad Shami would be joining the squad ahead of the 3rd test in Ranchi. He won’t be participating in the next 2 test matches, but will help the batsman with some much needed practice against quality fast bowling, and will help mentor Umesh Yadav and Ishant Sharma.
As pet the reports of Mumbai Mirror, Shami will not be featuring in the final two Tests because of the last minute exacerbation of his knee injury but has been asked by the BCCI to travel with the team to Ranchi for the third Test.
Shami was a part of the Bengal team and played his last match in Chennai, but he has been asked not to play Bengal’s quarter final game against Maharashtra on March 15th.
The Indian players are currently enjoying a Holi break and will be reassembling in Ranchi on the 13th of March, 3 days prior to the start of the all important 3rd test match.
While the Indian players are enjoying some time with their families, the Australian team was apparently supposed to spend their Holi time in Goa, but somehow the plan did not surface. They have been staying in Bangalore and will be reaching Ranchi on the 13th too.
