Steam has four significant seasonal sales for Summer, Autumn, Winter, and Spring. The Summer and Winter sales are the biggest among these, as most games are cheaper. Also, no gamer likes to miss out on these juicy price cuts. However, apart from seasonal sales, the platform hosts other sale fests annually.

These sales are not genre specific and give discounts on multiple games, from indie to Triple-A titles. There might be deals where many new releases are available at a more affordable price, so get ready to grab onto such deals.

About discounts in the next seasonal sale

Discounts on Steam can be either self-served or curated. For self-served, publishers can set discounts and give deals such as Launch Discounts, Weeklong Deals, and Custom Discounts. Curated deals are those discounts that Valve themselves set, and they choose which deals will be featured on the front page of promotional slots.

As for probable discounts, games that sold the best over the years can see higher price cuts. Steam has policies of leveling up discounts gradually over time after its initial release. However, games released this year that didn’t sell well can also see significant price cuts. For instance, Need for Speed: Unbound can see a discount of 75%, as seen in previous deals. It is advised to wishlist the games you want to get updates on when they go on sale.

Other great deals given by Steam

Apart from seasonal sales, the online store is also famous for its deals given from time to time. These deals can be publisher sales or free weekends with significant discounts. For instance, Stellaris is having a free weekend; anyone who buys the game during this period can save up to 75%.

Gamers can avail all of these sweet deals from the front page of the Steam store. Additionally, gamers can follow Steam on social media or email subscriptions to get constant updates regarding sales.
