Formerly a PlayStation exclusive, The Last of Us is finally coming to the PC platform. Originally released nearly a decade ago in 2013, TLOU has grown to be one of Sony’s strongest first-party franchises. Despite a PS4 facelift, the first game in the franchise was recently remade for the PS5. Unlike the PS4 remaster, The Last of Us Part 1 is a complete remake from the ground up. Announced at The Game Awards 2022, TLOU Part 1 will be heading to PC next year.

Keeping with Sony’s trend of bringing exclusives to PC, TLOU Part 1 will mark the shortest gap from PlayStation to PC. Released on September 2, 2022, the game is heading to PC in just six months on March 3, 2023. While keeping the tone and feel of the original intact, Joel and Ellie’s journey has been completely redone. Players can look forward to updated character models, redone textures, improved lighting, and ray tracing for the game.
Aside from visual improvements, controls, and gameplay mechanics have been modernized for the ultimate experience. Additionally, TLOU Part 1 features a bunch of accessibility improvements, something God of War won an award for at TGA 2022. Buyers of TLOU Part 1 will also gain access to the Left Behind chapter which follows Ellie and her best friend Riley’s journey. As for pricing, fans can expect the standard 70$ price tag to apply, as both Sony and Microsoft are now upping costs.
Users who pre-purchase the game will receive these in-game items:
Bonus Supplements
- Used to increase attributes such as max health, crafting speed, listen mode distance, healing speed, and improve weapon sway
Bonus Weapon Parts
- Used to upgrade weapons and craft weapon holsters when you are at a workbench
While The Last of Us Part 1’s Steam page has gone live, PC system requirements haven’t been specified yet.
