Sarah Taylor announced her retirement from Cricket after 13 years of service to England. She will most likely go down as the greatest women’s wicketkeeper to have played the game. Unfortunately, she ended up calling time on her career following an ongoing anxiety issue.

Sarah Taylor ended her career with 6533 runs in her career with respectable averages and strike rates. It was, however, her skills behind the wicket that made her such a recognisable name in the sport. She was even praised by legendary keeper Adam Gilchrist, who hailed her as the “the best wicketkeeper in the world at the moment – male or female.”

It has now come to light that it was not just Adam Gilchrist who fawned at Sarah Taylor’s skills but Indian Skipper Virat Kohli too, who wanted to meet her 5 years back.
The time when Virat kohli wanted to meet Sarah Taylor
Sarah Taylor’s ex teammate Kate Cross has now revealed that Virat Kohli had desired to meet the legendary gloveswoman back in 2014. The revelation came on twitter when she posted an old picture of them with Virat Kohli. The caption read:
“5 years ago since @imVkohli wanted to meet you @Sarah_Taylor30!!.”
Sarah Taylor would then reply:
“One of the more bizarre wake-up calls I’ve ever had. #5ambreakfast.”

Virat Kohli has since evolved to become one of the best if not the best batsman of this generation. The fact that Kohli admired Taylor enough to want to meet her despite himself being at or almost near the peak of his popularity speaks volumes of her credibility as a solid cricketer.
