The uncanny similarities between all of Vettel’s errors in races this season
Sebastian Vettel has had to face a lot of criticism this year as despite having a superior package, he finds himself 30 points behind Hamilton in the race to the WDC.
Vettel largely has himself to blame for this gap, as he has made 4 glaring errors, all of which have resulted in a massive loss of points for him. And when you are up against a determined Hamilton, you can’t afford to commit errors of any sort.
Now, a reddit user, u/azl_ahd, has pointed out a very uncanny similarity between all of Vettel’s mistakes(those that have cost him races).
All of the mistakes that have cost Vettel massive points this season have come at left handers.
And not only that, 3 of the 4 have come when he has been under pressure from Hamilton.
In Baku, Hamitlon dished out a dummy to go on the inside of Vettel on the restart after the safety car. Vettel attacked instead of defending and ended up losing 2 places whilst trying to go for the race lead.
In Germany when Vettel smashed into the fence, he was under pressure from Hamilton, who was putting in these fast laps.
In Monza, Vettel was covering the inside, while Hamilton took the racing line going into turn4. Vettel wasn’t quite ready to give up the space and ended up colliding with Hamilton and lost out on a possible race victory once again.
With the Singapore GP coming up, Vettel would be hoping that he secures pole, as the Turn 1 is a left hander and he wouldn’t want to be trying the overtake on his ‘weaker’ side.
