TheSportsRush brings Tottenham vs Barcelona highlights as Valverde’s side returns to winning ways with 4-2 win at Wembley.
Barcelona secured a much-needed three points with win at Wembley Stadium over Tottenham Hotspur. Phillippe Coutinho opened the goal-scoring for Barcelona, and Ivan Rakitic scored an extraordinary volley to double the lead before half time.
Lionel Messi inspired Barcelona to their second victory in the Champions League, as the Barcelona captain bossed the game from the midfield.
Tottenham broke their deadlock through Harry Kane, but Barcelona captain Lionel Messi soon scored for Barcelona to make it 3-1. Tottenham attacked throughout the second half and even succeeded in getting a second, but couldn’t salvage a point off the Catalan club.
Messi eventually scored his second goal towards the end of the match to seal the game.
Barcelona have struggled in the season so far and needed this win in an attempt to bring their campaign back on track. Even when the Catalan giants are first in La Liga, they only have 14 points from seven matches in the league.
Barca went down to Leganes in the midweek and played a 1-1 draw against Athletic Bilbao last week.
With this win, Barcelona maintain their position at the top of their Champions League group, while Tottenham suffer their second successive defeat in the European competition. The North London side lost narrowly to Inter Milan 2-1 in their first match of the Champions League.
Here are some of the tweets from the match:
Does anyone really genuinely think there has ever been a better footballer than Lionel Messi? I mean seriously?

Rakitic’s goal against Spurs was, as I believe the hip people of the day would say, ‘lit af’, whatever that means.

Messi is the best ever. I mean THE BEST EVER.

Lionel Messi continues to amaze me. He is the greatest passer of all time, the greatest creator of all time, the greatest dribbler of all time and one of the greatest goalscorers of all time. Put it all together, and it is clear that Messi is the greatest player of all time.

There’s a catalogue of improper noises one only makes when watching Lionel Messi play football.

I’ve never seen a greater footballer in my lifetime than Lionel Messi . Absolute genius.

Categorically one of the big European nights for Messi. Governed the midfiled at times, started pressure sometimes, hurt Spurs in the last third, two goals, hit the post twice #everpresent

Lionel Messi, Mauro Icardi, Erik Lamela and Angel Di Maria all scoring today in the Champions League. Paulo Dybala scored 3 yesterday and Aguero scored for City too. Insane Argentina depth in attack by some big names.

If you don’t believe Lionel Messi is the greatest of all-time, remember, Messi spelt backwards is “issem” which makes no sense at all. Just like your views.
