Arsenal will endure a rocky transfer window this time round as the club is scheduled to undergo a transition period with Arsene Wenger giving up managerial duties.
The club has already lined up managerial candidates in order to smoothen out the process and so that they can get their transfer window rolling.
Mikel Arteta looks like the most likely candidate to replace Arsene Wenger and Arsenal fans have mixed reactions to it, as Arteta doesn’t have much managerial experience.
If @Arsenal are really about to appoint a new manager who’s never managed a crisp packet, let alone a football match, then it will be a gamble of inexplicable, gargantuan proportions.
And if it’s true he’ll only have £50m to spend, then it’s a gamble destined to inevitably fail. pic.twitter.com/xNvH00ISV5— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) May 16, 2018
However, while the ‘manger hiring process’ will be undertaken in due course of time, the Arsenal think tank is already lining up transfers in order to bolster their team during this transition phase.
Sokratis Papastathopoulos has been deemed as the number 1 defensive target and could be roped in for £15m as reported by Daily Mail.
Laurent Koscielny has been ruled out for a major part of next season following an achilles injury and Arsenal are also looking to find replacements for Mustafi who hasn’t really delivered during crunch situations.
Former Manchester United defender Jonny Evans and Freiburg defender Caglar Soyuncu are being lined up for a move to the Emirates.
