‘Rain, rain go away’ would be the reaction in the Ferrari camp after qualifying in Hungary, as Ferrari once again failed to deliver in wet conditions, with Mercedes running away with the front row, thanks to some impressive driving on part of Hamilton and Bottas.
Q1 was fairly dry, but Q2 got worse with all drivers shifter to intermediates. But the heavens opened up slightly more in Q3, forcing every driver to shift to wet tyres.
It was a tricky, tricky session with Raikkonen setting the pace initially. But the two Mercedes cars were clearly finding the correct lines and more grip in order to push the two Ferrari away.
And in the end, the duo was just too good for both Vettel and Raikkonen.
Hamilton and Bottas now find themselves on the front row, with both the Ferraris just behind them.
It is going to be an interesting front row tomorrow.
Also, surprisingly Ricciardo couldn’t make it to Q3 and will be starting from 12th place on the grid tomorrow.
This is how Twitter reacted:

I was more meaning his team don't give too hoots about him. @Tony10Hill just made the #iceman comment. I still think he cries himself to sleep at night. #HungarianGP #BOT pic.twitter.com/1BWmmFBxhQ

What a stunning qualifying session. Lewis apparently walked over the water of the Hungaroring to take pole position for tomorrows #HungarianGP – and let's not forget Valtteri who made it a silver arrow front row! Absolutely amazing guys! #F1 #Formula1 pic.twitter.com/iiG4uhCa4U

Here we go again….
If Hamilton does poorly, it's 100% the car's fault.
If both Mercedes miraculously shoot to the top in a monsoon, it's clearly 100% down to Hamilton's supreme GOATiness. All hail.#HungarianGP#F1

Yeeeesss, pole for Hamilton! Fantastic qualifying for Mercedes who pick a 1-2 with Bottas in second. Great effort. Can't wait for the race 2moro!
Hopefully Lewis can turn this into a win or that least a podium finish.
