Pierre Gasly and GF Kika Gomes Crowned ‘Royal Couple’ of the Paddock as Recent Outing Touches the Hearts of F1 Fans

Solid relationships are hard to come by in F1. The high-speed, high-demand life in the circus takes a lot away from the drivers. However, Pierre Gasly might have found the real thing. As far as F1 love stories go, Gasly is living a modern classic with his girlfriend, Kika Gomes.

During the recent Monaco charity soccer match, the couple won the hearts of their fans as clips of their budding romance won over the internet. From Gasly making a rom-com move on the field to Francisca’s lock screen making Twitter go “aww”. Fans were on the sidelines witnessing a fairytale.

The couple started dating late last year and made things official in true F1 fashion- with a paddock walk at the Abu Dhabi GP. The Portuguese model and the driver don’t shy away from cheesy social media posts and Instagram PDA. A football match wasn’t going to stop them.

Fans go gaga over Pierre Gasly and Kika Gomes

The ultimate rom-com moment played out as Kika posted a picture of Gasly pointing at her before the match began. A romantic gesture through and through, fans were left gushing over the moment shared between the two.

However, that wasn’t it. The charity football match was filled with cutesy moments that gave them the “royal couple” tag by fans. One such observation was the F1 WAG’s lock screen: a picture of her and Gasly, completed with F1 updates as her widgets.

And so, the football date was enough for fans to go googly-eyed over the couple’s relationship.

Gasly floats through quiet F1 season

While his love life seems to be going great, Gasly is stuck in a rather quiet 2023 season. A Frenchman as a part of an all-French lineup for a French team- the storyline was there. Especially with the added spice of his troubled history with teammate Esteban Ocon, the F1 community looked forward to an invigorating season for the team.

However, Alpine has been muffled by its competition. Laurent Rossi had also publicly called out his team and the drivers for a lackluster start to the season, despite the high expectations.

Having landed in Monaco, and with the charity event out of the way, the focus lies on the race weekend up ahead. Gasly had commented on the state of affairs at Alpine with a tinge of positivity“We’ll aim to keep improving and build off from our promising performance last time out and aim to come away from Monaco with the best result possible, which, must be strong points from both cars.”

With a tough challenge ahead for the team, hopefully, the week’s break provided by the canceled Imola GP gives the team what they need to finally create some ruckus on the grid.
