All eyes will be on Bengaluru right now, as the the biggest cricket league in the world kicks off for another season.

This will be the biggest auction to take place after the first one back in 2008, as all eight IPL franchises will look to start from scratch and assemble a new squad.

While all franchises will be looking to build a balanced side, there will be a few sides that will be keen to bring a captain in to their fold.

The auction started off in grand style, as Shikhar Dhawan was the first name that was brought to the table.

Ashwin and Pollard also got sold within the first 15 minutes, but the biggest shock came when Chris Gayle’s name came out of the auction bag.

The legendary West Indian did not get a bid, as Gayle did not get a single bid and was discarded into the later rounds.

Ben Stokes also went for a big amount, but another shock came when Gautam Gambhir’s name was called out.

Gambhir went for Rs 2.8 crores to Delhi Daredevils, as the legendary KKR skipper went back to old stomping grounds.

KKR had the chance to use their RTM card on Gambhir, but they refused the opportunity to bring back their captain.

The next big surprise came when KXIP bought back Yuvraj Singh at his base price of Rs 2 crores. The darling of Punjab returned to his first IPL team, as Yuvi will hope to rediscover his best form with his hometown team.
