Southampton weather now: Will it rain on Day 4 and 5 of England vs Pakistan Rose Bowl Test?

Southampton weather now: The SportsRush presents for you the detailed weather prediction for the ongoing ENG vs PAK Test.

Day 4 of any Test match usually presents an opportunity for teams to take control of the match with respect to its final result. The ongoing third Test match between England and Pakistan in Southampton is no different.

With England bundling out Pakistan for 273 in 93 overs last evening, all the hosts require is to dismiss 10 Pakistani batsmen to win the match and the series.

Trailing by 269 runs at lunch on Day 4, it wouldn’t be wrong to say that the visitors require some magical performances to save the match or even force the matter to the fourth innings. This, even after Pakistan not losing a wicket for 18 overs in the first session today, is primarily because of the form of both sides’ players.

With rain playing spoilsport on yet another occasion this summer, players have taken an early lunch as they continue to wait for the sky to clear to resume play.

Southampton weather now

While no team steps out to win/draw a match with assistance from an additional element such as rain but Pakistan might just get lucky this time for the weather in Southampton doesn’t promise much as far as the rain forecast is concerned.

At the time of writing this article, there’s a rain prediction of 56% for the next two hours. While the probability decreases as we proceed towards the evening session, it still remains in the range of 34% – 43%.

England Cricket Board’s decision around allowing the officials to start 30 minutes earlier tomorrow if a lot of overs are lost today provides some respite but the same can’t be said of weather.

Talking about the rain prediction for tomorrow, play starting 30 minutes in advance might be a far-fetched reality as there’s a rain forecast in the range of 60% – 75% between 10:00 AM and 11:00 AM in Southampton.

Even the second session on Day 5 might witness incessant rain as the probability still remains above 50%. It is only during the third session on the final day that the rain probability is under 30%. In such a scenario, fans and players should consider themselves very fortunate if they manage to reach to a result in this match.
