It was like a gazelle, a poem, a brutal looking one sometimes, but a beautiful poem nonetheless, as Rishabh Pant produced one of the best T20 performances that the IPL has dished out in its history. The game is changing, Indian Cricket is evolving and Rishabh Pant is going to be the flag bearer of it for a long time to come.

The ease with which Samson and Pant were bludgeoning the ball, almost sent a chill down the spine, and all you could do is revel in the wonderful music that these next generation stars were creating. It was surreal to watch, a dream, a fairy tale, a brilliant memory.

Ever since the start of this season people have been begging the DD management to send Pant up the order, as it is there where is at his absolute best. And while it took DD a goof 8 matches to figure that out, we should be appreciative that they finally did the obvious and helped us witness this gem of an innings.
It’s wonderful to see young Indian talent embracing this huge stage, scripting such emphatic stories and announcing themselves to the world in the most romantic possible way. Yesterday it was Tripathi, today it was the duo of Samson and Pant, and we hope that the list keeps growing through the course of the tournament.
