Twitter reactions on Dhoni and Jadhav posting 324-4

Twitter reactions on Dhoni and Jadhav posting 324-4: Twitter was elated as the duo powered India to a handsome total in the second ODI.

During the second ODI of the ongoing India’s tour of New Zealand at Mount Maunganui, former India captain and current wicket-keeper batsman Mahendra Singh Dhoni and all-rounder Kedar Jadhav propelled India to score 324-4 in their allotted quota of 50 overs.

After their heroics won India the series-deciding Melbourne ODI, the duo combined to post yet another game-changing partnership. While it is not easy for a new batsman to play the big shots, not for a moment did Jadhav let it come across to the viewers.

With Dhoni also well-set by the time Jadhav came out, the duo accumulated 53 runs off 26 balls to give India the recovery they required after not being able to score many boundary in the first half of the third powerplay.

Despite India captain Virat Kohli getting out in the 40th over, India were expected to score around the 330-340 run mark. However, with only 29 runs coming from the next five overs, the same target seemed a distant possibility.

It was only in the penultimate overs when Indian batsmen scored more than 10 runs in an over for the first time in the third powerplay. The last over being bowled by New Zealand fast bowler Lockie Ferguson saw Jadhav hitting a couple of boundaries and a six on the first three deliveries.

Having hit a monumental six off Trent Boult on the second last delivery of the previous over, Dhoni hit a boundary on the penultimate ball of the match to cause further damage. Dhoni and Jadhav scored a total of 21 runs in the last over.

The Chennai Super Kings duo received a lot of appreciation on social media platform Twitter. Read some of the Twitter reactions below:
