Twitter reactions on Madrid derby: Real Madrid beat Atletico Madrid 3-1 in the league clash and have moved to the second position.
Real Madrid have climbed to the second position in the La Liga table after securing three points against Atletico Madrid.
Santiago Solari’s side led in the game through Casemiro’s early strike, but Griezmann pulled one back nine minutes later.
However, Sergio Ramos converted the penalty towards the end of the first half and Gareth Bale scored his fifth La Liga goal of the season with a brilliant finish to secure three points for Real Madrid.
Solari’s side is now five points behind Barcelona, who will take on Athletic Bilbao in the La Liga clash on Sunday.
Here are some of the best Twitter reactions from the game:
Barcelona and Real Madrid are one-two in La Liga again, with Barcelona well ahead — like during majority of the Cristiano era. Real have properly stabilised now and Vinicius showing signs of potential greatness. #AtletiRealMadrid

Holy crap, Gareth Bale just flipped off the Atlético Madrid fans after scoring. I think that’s the first time I’ve really seen him become angry since moving to Madrid.

Real Madrid didn’t really dominate this, and Atletico’s press / defensive shape was quite good before falling apart on the Bale goal; but this might be my favourite performance so far from the Solari reign. So much heart from the entire team in a really emotional / tough game.

Vinicius Jr has all the tools to become a world class player. Incredible pace, sensational dribbler and is fearless. He has been one of the best Real Madrid players this season and he’s only 18. Genuine talent that gets supporters out of their seats. 🔥👏🏻 pic.twitter.com/R8FVpAiGrz

The last time to score 3+ goals away vs Atletico Madrid before today was also Real Madrid in November 2016 (3-0, Cristiano hatrick).

Atletico Madrid had only conceded FOUR goals at home this season before today. Real Madrid have scored three this afternoon…

Morata subbed off. So caught up and ready to celebrate against Real Madrid that he couldn’t stay onside. Can’t get 90 minutes at any club in Europe. What a shame 🖕🏻
