Twitter reactions on Man Utd vs Liverpool: Manchester United salvage a draw at Old Trafford in the Premier League.
Manchester United’s players produced a brave display as the side held the high-flying Liverpool to a draw at Old Trafford.
Liverpool started the game on a solid note but the match was regularly interrupted by injuries to the host side.
Ander Herrera, Juan Mata and Jesse Lingard were substituted within the first half as a makeshift Manchester United held Liverpool to a goalless game.
Liverpool didn’t step up in the clash, and Mohamed Salah’s substitution late in the second half summed up the game for the visitors.
With this draw, however, Liverpool climbed to the top of the league table – now a point ahead of Manchester City. United, meanwhile, have dropped to 5th position after Arsenal registered a victory over Southampton.
This is how Twitter reacted to the game:
Another good audition by Solskjaer. 3 key injuries in the first half challenging his decision making. Not a victory but a steadfast performance and the better chances to win the game.

Dreadful technical quality throughout that game. Understandable from Man Utd with all the disruption, and they kept their shape well – but so many unenforced errors in possession from Liverpool. Probably been said already but Sturridge instead of Shaqiri was an odd move too.

De Gea, Young, Smalling, Lindelof, Shaw, Pereira, McTominay, Pogba, Lukaku, Rashford and Sanchez, and you don’t make our keeper do anything over 90 minutes? Liverpool, you’re shit 😂

Salah completely anonymous, Mane and Firmino very rarely threatened. Gotta credit the team for their defensive work. Pereira and McTominay worked hard but just aren’t good enough to support Pogba, who had a slightly off day unfortunately.

One of the most pleasing aspects of today? Scott McTominay and Andreas Pereira. Fought for every ball, didn’t look out of place, both did so well… and Luke Shaw. Unreal performance. #mufc

Amazed at Liverpool’s lack of ambition going forward today against Man Utd’s 2nd team ….

Vidic: “I expected more from Liverpool. I think Liverpool defended well, they kept possession well but didn’t create chances.” #mufc [Sky]

FT 0-0 Decent result, all things considered. Injuries didn’t help but we nullified Liverpool, who failed to score away from home for the first time this season in the league. Didn’t quite have the spark up top to get a winner. Shaw, Lindelof and Smalling excellent today.
