Twitter reactions on Shikhar Dhawan's dismissal in 2nd T20I

Twitter reactions on Shikhar Dhawan’s dismissal in 2nd T20I: Twitter was unhappy with the decision being ruled in Australia’s favour.

During the second T20I of the ongoing Australia’s tour of India at Bengaluru, India opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan’s dismissal created a lot of confusion among the Indian fans primarily because of the way the catch was taken.

Dhawan, who was one of the three changes which India made tonight, opened the batting alongside Lokesh Rahul. On the second delivery of the 10th over, Dhawan’s attempt of lofting a Jason Behrendorff delivery over the off-side saw him getting caught in the deep by Australia all-rounder Marcus Stoinis.

The fielder ran in from the boundary and grabbed a catch. With the on-field umpire giving the soft signal as out, it was up to the third umpire to pass the final verdict. In what was a really close chance, it left the audiences with plentiful confusion.

Having said that, the third umpire ended up going with the soft signal and signaled the batsman out. While Dhawan was walking out of the ground, many Indians fans were seen unhappy with the decision.

The southpaw ended up scoring 14 (24) with the help of one four. It was that kind of an innings for Dhawan who never really got going in the middle. Despite Rahul playing a blazing innings, Dhawan’s couldn’t press the accelerator throughout his innings.

Given the format, the team management would have wanted for Dhawan to play much better if not match fire with fire in comparison to Rahul’s 47 (26). Had Dhawan, too, accelerated like Rahul, the Indian middle-order would have gained on the advantage.
