Twitter Reactions: social media erupts after Chelsea announced Frank Lampard as the new manager

Twitter reactions: Here are some twitter reactions after Chelsea announced Frank Lampard as the new Chelsea manager from 2019/20 season.

Chelsea finally completed the much speculated move of Frank Lampard returning to Stamford Bridge as a manager, the rumours started spreading even before Maurizio Sarri left Chelsea this summer.

Several Chelsea fans were waiting for this announcement, since it was nearly confirmed that the Blues have set their heart on their legend to fill the void at Chelsea’s dugout.

Therefore, the internet stormed with joy, as Chelsea fans cannot be more happy with their legend coming back home, after years of his departure as a player.

Lampard impressed the hierarchy at Chelsea with his managerial debut stint with Derby after he brought them till the play-offs of the Championship. However, in the end lost to Aston Villa and failed to get his team promoted in the Premier league.

On the other hand, Maurizio Sarri was speculated to leave Chelsea after falling out with the club administration, and his reports of departure further increased after Juventus sacked Massimiliano Allegri, and chose Sarri as his replacement.

Thus, Chelsea had limited options in the market with the transfer ban rounding above the West-London club till the end of the following season, and Lampard seemed as the most favourable choice to take the charge amidst the crises.

Moreover, Chelsea also expect him to invest him time at the youth by giving chances to academy players, as the Blues can’t buy players to fulfill the requirements of next season. Thus, with Lampard familiar with academy players and experience of managing few Chelsea loanees at Derby makes him a viable option.

Amidst all of it, there is a minority of Chelsea admirers, who believe that it is too soon for Lampard to take the charge at the club because of lack of managerial experience, but this could be the right time for the Former English International to prove them the opposite.
